Moon
Sea Crossing is the poetic and captivating
retelling of the true story of
one womans escape from famine in Ireland, only to be imprisoned
by new hungers in Canada.
Poetry,
live ambient music, Celtic lore and storytelling come together
to trace a journey through madness and desire, loss and hope.
Fertile
Ground brings Lynn Harrigan's book Moon
Sea Crossing (Black
Moss Press 2005) to life
in this one-woman show premiering at the Toronto
Fringe Festival.
"Moon
Sea Crossing is a romance in the most mystical sense of the word,
a record of a journey that commands the epic experience of the Irish-Canadian
Diaspora.
This is a beautifully crafted poetic story not only of the process of
relocation,
but of the transition from familiarity into a new, emergent reality
and consciousness wrought from the hard-won passion of experience"
Bruce
Meyer
If
we listen closely, Moon Sea Crossing might lift us up and carry
us lightly
to another place, another time and then let us off more fully alive
and wide awake in the here and now. - John
B. Lee
Fertile
Ground Productions consists of Angela McMillan and Sarah
Schwartz,
who have been working together for over a decade.
"We
